Reload contains the three BCAAs (leucine, isoleucine, and valine) in the research-proven ratio of 2:1:1, the only ratio clinically-shown to stimulate muscle growth, improve recovery, and reduce exercise related muscle soreness.

The BCAAs are classified as essential amino acids they cannot be made by the body and therefore must come from diet or supplements. Clinical studies have discovered the following:

L-Leucine – By itself, this highly anabolic BCAA can stimulate protein synthesis, which is the process responsible for muscle growth as well as recovery. Research has indicated that supplementation with at least 2 grams of leucine per day has been shown to increase lean muscle and reduce soreness as well as recovery time between workouts. However, Leucine benefits from the anabolic support of the other two BCAAs, for example, in a study conducted by Howatson et al. (2012), it was discovered that leucine, when combined with isoleucine and valine, administered before muscle damaging resistance exercises reduced muscle damage and sped recovery in resistance-trained male test subjects.

L-Isoleucine - Like leucine, this BCAA that can also stimulate protein synthesis but not to the same degree as Leucine does, therefore, it also benefits from the other two BCAAs. However, isoleucine can dramatically increase glucose uptake and the use of glucose during exercise, which means greater energy production.

L-Valine – This BCAA promotes muscular endurance and reduces workout fatigue. When you work out, tryptophan is converted to serotonin and tells your brain that your body is starting to fatigue—your body reacts and you begin to see reduced strength as well as less endurance. Valine overrules tryptophan for entry into the brain, which means you experience stronger muscular contractions, greater strength, and extended endurance.

Here are some of the benefits of BCAAs:

BCAAs stimulate protein synthesis which leads directly to new muscle growth.

BCAAs promote an anabolic (muscle building) environment – when you work out, you put your body in a catabolic state (or, a state of muscle breakdown). BCAAs are used for energy in this case instead of muscle growth. BCAA increase nitrogen retention by sparing other amino acids, which helps the body maintain an anabolic state.

BCAAs increase strength because gains in lean muscle typically mean increases in strength.

BCAAs stimulate fat loss primarily due to isoleucine, which supports the use of fat as fuel and stimulates receptors that block fat storage in the body.

BCAAs improve the uptake of glucose and insulin sensitivity for improved body composition.

BCAAs increase workout endurance - during periods of extended exercise, BCAAs are used by the muscles for energy production. They also help prevent muscle damage during extended endurance events.

BCAAs reduce the effects of post-exercise soreness, also known as DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness).

BCAAs preserve muscle tissue even in times of reduced calorie intake. When you cut your calories, you also see a decrease in protein consumption. When you don’t take in enough protein, your body starts to literally feed on your muscles, which means you lose size. Clinical research has indicated that supplementing with BCAAs during these periods act as an anti-catabolic by preserving lean muscle while also supporting fat loss.



L-Glutamine makes up 60% of the amino acids found in muscle tissue and, along with the BCAAs, stimulates protein synthesis, helps restore glycogen (energy) levels in the muscles post-workout, increases cell hydration (volumization) and acts as an anti-catabolic by decreasing protein breakdown in the muscles.

In a study conducted by Lehmkuhl et al. in 2003, it was shown that test subjects supplementing with glutamine and creatine monohydrate for 8 weeks increased lean body mass and initial power output when compared to placebo.

L-CARNITINE - 1,500 mg

Derived from the amino acids lysine and methionine, L-Carnitine is required for the transport of fatty acids to the mitochondria where it is broken down and used for energy. Additionally, carnitine has been shown to lower muscle damage and soreness caused by exercise, as well as block muscular fatigue.

In a study conducted by Volek et al. in 2002, it was determined that healthy, trained male test subjects supplementing with carnitine every day for one week were able to reduce markers of muscle damage after intense weight lifting sessions. Additionally, it was determined that biomarkers of oxidative damage were reduced to baseline faster than placebo.

In a study conducted by Ho et al. in 2010, it was found that middle aged male and female test subjects supplementing with carnitine over 24-days experienced reduced muscle damage, reduced soreness and had lower oxidative markers in serum following intense exercise sessions.


OKG, or L-Ornithine Alpha-Ketoglutarate, combines two molecules of the amino acid ornithine with alpha-ketoglutarate. OKG has been clinically-proven to promote increased levels of arginine, plasma glutamate, intramuscular glutamine, GH and IGF1. Additionally, OKG stimulates increased insulin secretion and nitric oxide production. OKG may enhance workout performance by decreasing blood levels of ammonia, thereby slowing fatigue buildup in the working muscles.

In a study conducted by Suqino et al. in 2008, it was determined that those test subjects supplementing with ornithine for a 6-day period were able to lower perceived fatigue by 52% compared to placebo. Additionally, ammonia buildup during exercise was lower as compared to placebo.

We only use OKG that is positively bonded, the same form that the clinical studies were based on.

GLYCINE - 500 mg

Glycine is an amino acid that’s essential for creatine synthesis, helps prevent muscle protein breakdown, contributes to muscle growth and plays a role in the conversion of glycogen into energy. It’s critical for complete recovery, in fact, in the absence of glycine, damaged muscle tissue cannot be repaired.

The most up to date research indicates that supplementing with glycine may increase levels of GH for 3-4 hours after exercise, which leads to faster recovery times and greater muscle growth.



Beta-Alanine, the precursor to carnosine in skeletal muscle, is a very effective way of increasing levels of muscle carnosine, which helps reduce the negative side effects of hydrogen ion accumulation in the muscles, thereby allowing for extended exercise performance for both trained and untrained individuals.

A recent meta-analysis of clinical studies indicates a 2.85% increase in exercise performance compared to placebo when dosed at about 2 grams per day, confirming the ergogenic benefits of beta-alanine.


Betaine, also known as TMG, or Trimethylglycine, is a choline metabolite that performs two primary functions in the body: as a methyl donor and as an osmolyte. In its function as a methyl donor, betaine converts homocysteine to L-methionine, and is for this reason a precursor to creatine. In its function as an osmolyte, betaine shields cells, proteins, and enzymes from dehydration, heat, and other stresses. Additionally, betaine is involved in stimulating protein synthesis.

For effective increases in strength, endurance, and total training volume, betaine should be dosed at levels of 2500-6000 mg per day.

In a study conducted by the University of Connecticut, it was determined that test subjects that were supplementing with 1.25 grams of betaine twice per day increased their bench press power by 20%.


CREATINE HCL – 1.5 Grams

Creatine is easily the most researched and proven effective supplement on the market, in fact, there are 500+ studies with most of them concluding that creatine offers definite ergogenic benefits. Creatine is made by the body, stored in the muscles and has a major role in the production of ATP, the energy system that provides the cellular energy required for short duration, high-intensity activities such as weight lifting and sprinting - its role is that it’s used for converting ADP into ATP. Put simply, when our muscles use up available ATP, creatine helps to replenish those stores reasonably quickly. Individuals that do not supplement or follow a diet that includes animal based proteins store about 2 grams of creatine in their bodies, whereas those individuals that do supplement are able to increase their body’s creatine pool by, on average, as much as 10 to 40%. The exact percentage depends on diet and the amount of total lean muscle mass they are carrying.

Creatine has been proven to increase lean muscle growth, increase strength, improve power output, and increase muscular endurance. Creatine has also been shown to increase hydration in extreme outdoor weather conditions. Additionally, the latest research indicates that creatine may provide significant cognitive benefits.

We use Creatine MagnaPower and Creatine HCL in Reload because they are more soluble than creatine monohydrate and therefore absorb better; which means you can take a lower dose than the required 5 grams of monohydrate and still get the same benefits.

The International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) position stand on creatine monohydrate is that research has determined that short-term supplementation with creatine has been shown to improve maximum strength and power by 5-15%, work performed during sets of maximum effort by 5-15%, single-effort sprint performance by 1-5%, and finally work performed during repetitive sprint performance by 5-15%. It appears that long-term supplementation with creatine seems to improve the overall quality of training, resulting in performance and strength improvements of 5 to 15%.


TAURINE – 1.5 Grams

Taurine is among the most important of all the amino acids, in fact, it’s well-known for the positive effects it has on heart health and cardiovascular health. Also, initial clinical studies indicate that taurine, when combined with caffeine, can enhance cognitive performance. Additionally, taurine is involved in regulating the core temperature of the body and helps the body maintain a normal water balance, making it an important hydration nutrient. Taurine levels drop during periods of intense physical activity, such as weight lifting, during these times supplementation is suggested.

In a study conducted by Zhang et al. in 2004, it was discovered that test subjects that supplemented with taurine for 1 week before intense exercise dramatically improved VO2 max, time to exhaustion, and maximal workload. It also reduced DNA damage caused by intense exercise.





Calcium, potassium, phosphorus and sodium are important electrolytes required by the body to maintain correct water balance, prevent cramps, promote normal muscular contractions, and enhance the function of motor neurons.

When we are physically active, as in intense exercise, we lose electrolytes through sweat, they must be replaced in order to prevent possibly severe reductions in performance.

In a study conducted by Sims et al. in 2007, it was found that ingesting a high-sodium beverage before exercise increased plasma volume and, during exercise, lowered thermoregulatory and perceived strain. Additionally, it was found that exercise capacity was increased in conditions of warmer temperatures.
