Supplement Spotlight: Das Labs (Bucked Up) PUMP-Ocalypse

In this edition of Supplement Spotlight, we’re checking out Das Labs (or is it Bucked Up?) PUMP-Ocalypse, a potent pump enhancer. Read on and find out more about this product, including a complete ingredient breakdown, how to use it and what you can stack it with. Let’s jump right in!

What Is Das Labs (Bucked Up) PUMP-Ocalypse

PUMP-Ocalypse is a stim-free pre-workout designed to amplify your pumps. It features 6 ingredients, including branded ingredients, all designed to work together for the best pumps imaginable.

What’s In A Name?

OK, so what is the right name? Is it DAS Labs or is it Bucked Up? DAS Labs (or, Deer Antler Spray Labs) is the name you will see on many websites, including illpumpyouup.com. Yet one look at their products and the only name you see is Bucked Up.

So which is it?

It’s not really clear. If you visit their website you will be hard-pressed to find the name “DAS Labs” mentioned. Still, you can find it if you look. For example, there is at least one mention of DAS Labs in their “About Us” section. Plus, if you visit their social media, you will see more mention of the name “DAS Labs”. Yet, as noted, on all their labels they are using the name “Bucked Up”. I would say DAS Labs is the parent company, and Bucked Up is the main division.

Let’s Look At The Ingredients

One scoop of PUMP-Ocalypse provides the following:

GlyerPump™ (Glycerol Powder 65%) – 3,500 mg

The branded ingredient GlycerPump™ is a stable type of glycerol powder that yields 65% glycerol content. This version is designed for stability with no clumping.

Glycerol, a sugar alcohol, is also an osmolyte that builds up in body fluids, increasing the body’s water volume. It creates hyper-hydration and promotes massive water-based pumps. It can also be used as an energy substrate and may promote training energy (think endurance) when you take large amounts. (1, 2, 3)

L-Citrulline – 3,000 mg

L-Citrulline is a non-essential amino acid, meaning it is made by the body. It’s also one of three amino acids in the Urea cycle, which helps remove excess ammonia from the body. As a supplement, once it is ingested and absorbed, it’s used to produce arginine. This is what stimulates nitric oxide production, which of course leads to greater pumps, enhanced nutrient delivery, and removal of waste products.

So why not simply take arginine? Because it doesn’t digest or absorb as well as citrulline. One reason is that citrulline bypasses digestion, instead going into the bloodstream. What this means is that citrulline outperforms arginine at its own function. (4, 5, 6)

Peak O2® Blend: 1,000 mg

(Cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris), Reishi (Ganoderma lucidem), King Trumpet (Pleurotus eryngii), Shiitake (Lentinula edodes), Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) and Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) Mushroom)

PeakO2®  is a branded ingredient that is a certified organic Blend of 6 adaptogenic mushrooms. The PeakO2® Blend allows lifters to “adapt” to and overcome physical and mental stress, thereby improving physical performance and extending endurance. (7)

L-Arginine HCL – 1,000 mg

Arginine HCL is a form of arginine that digests and absorbs better than regular arginine. Of course, it stimulates the product of nitric oxide for greater pumps as well as nutrient delivery to your working muscles.

Agmatine Sulfate – 500 mg

Agmatine is naturally created in the body from arginine. It converts from arginine through a process called decarboxylation. Additionally, agmatine is produced in small amounts by the mitochondria. The primary function of agmatine is to signal vasodilation in the lining of the blood vessels, increasing blood flow. This means greater pumps.

Betaine Anhydrous – 500 mg

Betaine, found naturally in beets, is the amino acid glycine with three methyl groups attached. It’s an osmolyte, like glycerol. This means that it pulls water into the muscle cells, increasing water-based pumps. It also is thought to improve strength and power. That benefit make it similar to creatine, and it is often compared to creatine. (8)

How Do I Use It?

According to the directions, mix 1 scoop with 6-8 oz of cold water 15-30 minutes before your workout. Personally, I would use 2 scoops or mix 1 scoop into a stim-based pre-workout that already had good dosages of most of these ingredients.

What Can I Stack It With?

Example Stack

PUMP-Ocalypse

Alpha Lion SuperHuman Extreme

——– or——

Alpha Supps PRE

Hi-Tech Precision Protein

As mentioned above, I suggest stacking PUMP-Ocalypse with a stim-based pre-workout (I provided 2 options, one is more budget-minded). I also advocate using a quality protein powder. From this foundational beginning, you can add almost anything, depending on goals. I suggest creatine and a multi-vitamin/mineral. From here, you can go for mass builders such as prohormones, or fat loss formulas, such as thermogenics

Summary

There can be no doubt that most of us, if not all of us, love to chase the pump. And the great thing is, it doesn’t matter what your primary goal is, the pump is always right there! The next time you’re in the gym, maximize the pump with DAS Labs PUMP-Ocalypse! So why wait, stop by and stock up today!
