Variations

  1. You can add any toppings you like. For example, maple (or other flavor) syrup, cool whip, or peanut butter. I suggest sugar-free syrup, and light Cool Whip.
  2. Feel free to replace 1% milk with your favorite milk or milk alternative as desired. For example, using 2% milk adds a richer flavor. Or, you may prefer almond milk.
  3. You can replace almond flour with any type of flour you prefer. However, doing so will change the nutritional profile, texture and taste.
  4. Feel free to replace the chocolate protein powder with any other flavor. For example, I’m a vanilla freak, so that would be my choice, after I got tired of chocolate of course!

Supplement Suggestions

Supplements and nutrition go hand in hand. In the case of this Chocolate Protein Pancakes recipe, you’re already using whey protein. You may choose to use a plant protein powder, such as PEScience Vegan Series Select Protein (chocolate), which supplies 20 grams of protein from pea and brown rice. Or, you replace Optimum Whey with, say, Hi-Tech Precision Protein, my personal favorite. Don’t forget your other supplements, namely a pre-workout, creatine, and a multi. Ensuring you’re always on top of your cornerstone supplement stack means you will always be ready to hit the gym and power through your workouts!

So, now that you’ve enjoyed a mouthwatering serving of Chocolate Protein Pancakes, you can easily make them again. What a great way to help you meet your daily protein requirements, right?
