About Greek Yogurt
Greek yogurt is a great source of quality protein but here’s the problem with Greek (and regular): all the sugar. That’s why I’m using Greek plain in the recipe. Once you look at most of the flavored versions (there are a few low-sugar brands), the sugar shoots up to double-digit levels. If the sugar is higher than the protein, you know you’re in trouble! Choosing a plain Greek yogurt with 6 grams or less of sugar per serving is the best way to go. What about the taste, you’re no doubt asking? Many people can’t deal with the bland taste of plain yogurt. That’s why you’ll mix it into a blender full of strawberries and protein powder!
Variations
- Feel free to replace the 2% milk with your favorite milk alternative.
- You can use more or less milk, as desired. I would not add much more than what’s listed.
- You can mix in some strawberry chunks as desired.
- You can add other types of fruit as desired.
- For a real treat, mix in sugar-free cheesecake pudding – yum! Just make sure you adjust your macros.
Supplement Suggestions
Before anything else, your supplement program needs to focus on what I call the cornerstone products, and this recipe begins with what I feel is the most anabolic protein powder on the market. Hi-Tech Precision Protein is one of a handful of proteins currently on the market that targets protein synthesis.
How? With a formula that uses an exclusive Hi-Tech technology that takes this product beyond simply being a high quality hydrolyzed whey protein source. You see, Precision Protein releases leucine in the early stages of protein synthesis, and of course that is a trigger of muscle growth.
Your next cornerstone supplement needs to be a pre-workout. I suggest Gorilla Mind Gorilla Mode. This is an exceptionally dosed and balanced pre-workout with a massive 10 grams of citrulline – guess who started the trend of higher citrulline (and other ingredients) doses? Plus there’s plenty of caffeine. There’s also 5 grams of creatine monohydrate, so cornerstone supplement suggestion #3 is the creatine for your off-days.
The one I always suggest is AllMax Nutrition Creatine Monohydrate. This supplement features patented CreaSyn® micronized creatine monohydrate for superior absorption, purity (99.9%!), and quality.
Finally, don’t forget your multivitamin/mineral formula. I suggest AllMax Nutrition VITASTACK, which features 7 nutrient complexes. It goes without saying that this formula is one of the most comprehensive multivitamin and mineral products on the market.
Summary
So, it’s almost summer, are you ready for your Strawberry Ice Cream? While it’s getting hard in your freezer (remember, 3 to 4 hours) all that’s left to do is stop by illpumpyouup.com and stock up on all your supplements!
