Gaspari Nutrition is a brand that dates back to the late 90s. They rode an early wave of pre-workouts, and were one of the first to offer a creatine-based formula for use before and during your workouts. Who Is Gaspari Nutrition?
Rich Gaspari won the first Arnold Classic held in 1989 and placed second to Lee Haney at the Mr. Olympia three times. He founded Gaspari Nutrition in 1998, literally making supplements in his garage. Initially, the brand was known for SuperPump pre-workout (which competed directly with NO-Xplode by BSN) and SizeOn, originally a creatine-based powder.
The Precision Protein – Hi-Tech Pharma Connection
Precision Protein, one of the most advanced protein powders on the market, was originally a Gaspari Nutrition product that was first introduced in 2016. During the same year, the owner of Hi-Tech Pharma bought a share in Rich’s company. This led to a steady release of impressive products that included Precision Protein. Yet, just a couple of years later, in 2018, Rich bought back the shares to regain full control of his company. However, for whatever reason, the Precision Protein formula remained with Hi-Tech and is currently sold under the Hi-Tech name.
As many of you know, this product is, for me, the best whey protein powder on the market solely because it allows the release of leucine in the early stages of protein synthesis. True, there are “cleaner” protein powders, but only a very few attempt to target the anabolic power of leucine, and no one does it like this product. (1, 2)
What Kind Of Products Does Gaspari Carry?
Beyond the innovative products mentioned above, this classic company makes quite a few impressive products, such as SizeOn Get Swole, a creatine-based intraworkout, Proven Pump, a liquid glycerol/nitric oxide formula, and Proven Egg, their very successful egg white protein powder.
In addition, there’s PlasmaJet, a nitric oxide booster that was sold as a Hi-Tech product during the brief time Gaspari was under the Hi-Tech umbrella of brands. Rich’s company is not a “hardcore” brand like Hi-Tech, who also sells prohormones. For the most part, Gaspari made their name with protein powder, pre-workouts and products like SizeOn.

Many of the newest products in Rich’s lineup use full disclosure labeling. However, he is still hanging onto prop blends for several formulas at a time when most of the industry has switched to transparent labeling. Rich introduced the brand at a time when the concept of fully open labels did not exist. Of course, the reason for prop blends is to “hide the formula”, which is all well and good, as long as that “formula” is effectively dosed. My hope, however, is that they will jump head first onto the open labeling bandwagon.
