Reach Your Fitness Goals With These 6 Tips!

Reach Your Fitness Goals With These 6 Tips! It’s January – time to get serious and get in shape! Don’t let yourself take on too much – your key to success is to set achievable goals – then get in the gym (and the kitchen) and get it done. In this article I’m giving you tips that can get you where you want to be – so if you’re ready to rock, let’s get started!

Tip # 1 – See Your Success!

Whether you’re a bodybuilder, fitness enthusiast, or just want to get in shape, most likely your goals are a ways away. How do you stay focused and see your success? Set small, attainable goals, that’s how! If you set weekly or biweekly goals, they add up to consistent success that ultimately gets you to your end goals. A good habit to get into is to celebrate your short-term successes. Even if it’s just a mental pat on the back, make a big deal about what you accomplish!

If you want to take this farther and make it more motivating, reward yourself with each accomplishment. For example, get that gym apparel you’ve wanted, you’ve earned it!

Tip # 2 – Be Specific – And Realistic

As suggested above, when you set your goals, be specific and realistic. Most likely, your end goal is to lose excess body fat and gain some lean muscle mass. That goal will make a major difference in your physique, and it won’t happen by next Tuesday. That means you need to sit down and understand the journey you’re about to start.

For example, let’s say you want to lose 50 pounds. I know you don’t want to hear this, but it is critical you do – strive to lose it slowly, so you lose fat, not muscle. Read that again and understand it, because too many people rush into a crash diet that is just not sustainable. Many experts suggest losing a couple of pounds a week so you lose fat and not muscle. That means your ultimate goal might be 50 weeks away. Get there week by week and never mind the fad diets or hype programs.

If you’re lifting weights, it also means the scale may not reflect how much fat you’re losing. Therefore, I suggest going by the mirror and how your clothes fit. A big mistake is to get on the scale, see that maybe you’ve gained a pound, misinterpret that to mean your program is not working, then give up. Don’t do that! Muscle adds weight, and while fat does not turn into muscle, you can gain a little while you’re also dropping fat. Finally, scale weight will fluctuate, it’s key that you don’t overreact to it.

Tip # 3 – Track Your Progress

Be sure you track your progress. You can do it with an app or do it the old-fashioned way with a journal. You should track your workouts, nutritional program, and supplement program. Know where you are to know where you’re going. Don’t try just to remember everything, or even worse, take haphazard guesses about any aspect of your program. Track the details, it makes a difference.

Tip # 4 – Surround Yourself With A Good Support System

A very big key to success is to surround yourself with people that understand what you want to accomplish and support your efforts. Your inner circle of family and friends should have a mindset that is similar to your own. The last thing you need is “that person” sabotaging you every step of the way.

If your goal is to build muscle, you want to be around people who tell you that you can do it, not that you can’t. If your goal is fat loss, you need support, not someone downplaying your efforts while they sit there eating junk food. If you don’t have an inner circle like that, hire a fitness coach. Part of their job is to keep you motivated toward your goals.

Tip # 5 – Don’t Lose Sight Of Everything Else In Your Life

Now, at this point, we have established the importance of setting goals and not giving up. As important as achieving your goals is, and it may be your passion, you do not want to neglect the rest of your life. Have balance – going to the extreme is never a good thing. Make your fitness goals a key part of your life, but get out there and do the things you enjoy (except, of course, eating junk food or partying every night until 4 am). I’m talking about spending time with family and friends, going to the movies, enjoying your hobbies, etc.

Tip # 6 – Follow These Nutrition And Supplement Suggestions

One thing I always advise is to consume approximately 50% of the day’s carbohydrates, and that should include all of your simple, sugary carbohydrates, in the hours that surround your workout, even when fat loss is your goal. In addition, I suggest consuming at least 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight, and that should be evenly divided into several meals throughout your day. The key here is that protein should be your most important macronutrient. For more on nutrition  and fat loss, see this article.

Supplement Suggestions

The first supplement I suggest is a high-quality protein powder. You should look at it as a cornerstone product, as are all of the suggestions presented here. The powder I like to recommend is Hi-Tech Precision Protein. This is a whey protein powder that is different from every other whey protein powder on the market. Why, you might wonder? Simple. It’s designed to release the anabolic amino acid leucine in the initial stages of protein synthesis, which is a direct trigger of muscle growth.

The next supplement I advise within the context of this article is a thermogenic fat burner, such as Condemned Labs Arsynist. This is a powderful stim-based thermogenic fat burner that will help you conquer that excess fat for good! Not into stims? Then I suggest Species Nutrition Lipolyze Evolved. It’s a thermogenic yet it is completely stim free.

I also advise using a premium pre-workout, such as Gorilla Mind Gorilla Mode. This already-legendary pre-workout took the supplement market by surprise by coming in with a very high citrulline dose, and also by offering exceptional dosing across the board. It literally forced every other supplement manufacturer to significantly up the dosing of their pre-workouts! Plus, the entire formula is well-balanced and effectively dosed.

As great as that sounds, you might be looking for a value-minded Pre. Then I suggest Alpha Supps Pre. This is a streamlined yet effective formula created for the budget-conscious individual.

Finally, I suggest a good multivitamin/mineral supplement, such as AllMax Nutrition Vitastack, undoubtedly one of the most comprehensive multi’s on the market. Don’t forget to stop by illpumpyouup.com and stock up!
