One Arm Kettlebell Snatch

Purpose

The snatch is a full body movement that will help develop power in the hips, and lower back while strengthening many different muscles.

Execution

Begin by standing with your feet at shoulder width and a kettlebell between your legs. Squat down by pushing your hips back and keeping your back straight and pick up the kettlebell. Next, swing the kettlebell back behind your legs and then explosively reverse this movement by explosively driving your hips forward. Now, as the kettlebell swings to shoulder height, push straight up using your shoulders until your arm is locked out overhead. The momentum should swing the kettlebell, and you should rotate your wrist to get under the weight.

Tip

The more explosive you are with your hip and leg drive at the bottom of this movement, the easier it will be to complete the movement.
